Lateral Flow Device (LFD) Microdispensing
Lateral Flow Device (LFD) Microdispensing
Lateral Flow Assays (LFAs) are widely used in rapid diagnostics, to provide easy, cost-effective, and reliable results within minutes without any need for a specialised device. The tests are commonly used from early pregnancy detection, infectious disease testing, to food safety and veterinary diagnostics. There are manufactured billions of lateral flow (rapid) tests yearly.
There are spots or lines precisely deposited, usually onto nitrocellulose membranes or paper. Dispensing technology enables highly accurate, non-contact deposition of spots and lines in picoliter-, nanoliter-, and microliter volumes. The combination of Spot on the Fly dispensing, QC on the Fly monitoring and multichannel dispensing plays the key role in fast, reliable and highly effective manufacturing process in modern lateral flow-based in vitro diagnostics (IVD).
Microdispensing within Lateral Flow Devices
Lateral Flow Device (LFD) Application Highlights:
- Precision deposition (microdispensing) of reagents and biomolecules onto NC-membranes for
rapid IVD diagnostics. - High-throughput manufacturing of Lateral Flow devices with the highest reproducibility in line
and spot (micro)dispensing - Multichannel microdispensing and real-time process monitoring for reliable Lateral
Flow Device (LFD/ LFA) production.
